Biodiversity Collective supports collaborative research projects rooted in local ecology, cultural respect, and community engagement. These projects reflect unique partnerships and a shared commitment to documenting biodiversity.

The Kaua‘i Fungal Biodiversity Survey began in 2023 to document the island’s remarkable diversity of fungi. Through fieldwork, photography, and community participation, the project is building a record of species that supports research and education.

The Elwha Fungal Biodiversity Survey documents fungi in the Elwha River valley, focusing on areas recovering after dam removal. Through fieldwork, specimen collection, and community science, the project is building a record of fungal diversity to better understand ecosystem change and resilience.
